Sandiaga Uno Makes Homecoming Moment To Restore The Tourism Sector

JAKARTA - The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf), Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno predicts that the number of homecomers who will travel during the upcoming Eid al-Fitr holiday momentum will reach 85.5 million people.

Of this figure, Sandiaga said about 60 percent of them are expected to travel to various tourist destinations in the region.

"Around 48-56 million are domestic tourists who will go to tourist attractions in the region," said Sandiaga in a written statement, Wednesday, April 13.

Sandiaga said that the travelers who were on vacation during the 2022 Eid momentum would be one of the breakthroughs for the recovery of tourism and the creative economy (parekraf).

The reason is, during the pandemic, and previously Eid was limited to being closed for a while.

"It must be prepared, so that this amount can truly be a blessing and our economic revival. This opportunity must be taken," he said.

Furthermore, Sandiaga also explained that later the operating hours at each tourist destination would be adjusted to the provisions of the Leveled Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in each region. Then the standard health protocol and CHSE are also ensured to be applied.

On the other hand, Sandiaga also urges travelers who are going on vacation to be vaccinated, especially boosters.

During the Eid holiday, tourism managers are also ensured to have mature readiness.

Starting from human resources (HR), infrastructure, parking lots, traffic, to the use of digitalization such as QR PeduliLindungi scans, to keep travelers safe and comfortable while on vacation.
