JAKARTA - The Karawang District Police Traffic Unit will close 70 access routes or u-turns along the arteries of the Karawang area, during the Lebaran homecoming season.

"The 'u-turn' closure is carried out starting on the Tanjungpura Arterial Road (Karawang-Bekasi border) to the Cikalong Pantura route towards Gamon (Karawang-Subang border)," said Karawang Police Chief Assistant Commissioner of Police (AKP) LD Habibi Ade Jama, Wednesday, April 13 quoted from Antara.

Traffic engineering by closing the U-turn is carried out as an effort to secure the flow of going back and forth for Eid. The point is to anticipate traffic jams and accidents.

The U-turn closure itself is planned to be carried out from April 18 to May 8, 2022. The U-turn closure is carried out using a concrete median.

Kasatlantas said that along the Karawang arterial road, there were only eight access routes that were not closed.

The eight U-turns that are not closed during the homecoming and Lebaran season are the Gamon round, the Casandra gas station round, the Niki restaurant round, and the Pertamina depot roundabout.

In addition, the Pancawati roundabout, Masari roundabout, Charles roundabout, and Kepuh roundabout were not closed. So that it can still be used for directional access during the Lebaran homecoming season.
