Bobby Nasution Instructs The Purchase Of Official Shoes From MSMEs Starting Next Year

MEDAN - Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution has taken various steps to help revive MSME activists who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Recently, President Joko Widodo's son-in-law hopes that the purchase of shoes within the Medan City Government will also use products from Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

"Procurement of food and drink within the Medan City Government currently uses MSME products. I hope that next year, the purchase of official shoes will also use MSME products," said Bobby Nasution, Monday, April 11.

To smooth the plan, Bobby Nasution suggested that the procurement of official clothing which is budgeted every year could be allocated for the purchase of official shoes from MSME actors.

"Don't buy official clothes every year, if it can be allocated for purchasing official shoes, it can be official shoes or sneakers," he said.

With this step taken, Bobby Nasution hopes that the shoe industry produced by MSME players can progress and develop. Therefore, Bobby asked the Medan City Cooperatives and SMEs Office to immediately register the shoe business groups in the E-Catalog.

According to him, the problem of collecting data on KUMKM is very important. In addition, Bobby continued, the classification of MSME categories such as what is meant by ultra micro, micro, small and medium enterprises must be carried out firmly and thoroughly.

That way, the MSME categories in each region must be the same and in harmony so that the Medan City Government has a strong database.

In order to support the creation of a strong database, Bobby Nasution asked the ranks of sub-districts and sub-districts to help the Medan City Cooperatives and SMEs Office to register citizens who have businesses in their respective areas.

That way, the coaching program will be easy to carry out. Included in the distribution of aid so that it is right on target.

Not only that, Bobby Nasution also reminded and continues to encourage the Cooperatives and SMEs Office so that the use of technology must be massive, especially in economic activities. He emphasized that currently, not many MSME actors know about digitization.

"So I ask the Cooperatives and SMEs Office to carry out a lot of MSME development programs, especially digitalization," he said.
