Kepahiang Police Chief AKBP Suparman said the suspects in this case involved AS (27), RT (27) and DNS (36) a civil servant at the Kepahiang Hospital. Meanwhile, the victim AA (21) died.

AKBP Suparman explained that the chronology of the incident began with a love affair between the victim AA and the suspect AS, who is known to have had a child and a wife. After dating for some time, the two of them had sexual relations which caused the victim AA to become pregnant.
Knowing AA was pregnant, suspect AS admitted that he was not ready to marry the victim and then contacted the suspect RT and told the problem he was facing, then the suspect RT met the suspect DNS who worked at the Kepahiang Hospital to get an abortion drug.
The drug was purchased by DNS at the pharmacy and after receiving it, it was immediately given to the suspect RT, then given to the suspect AS and then given to the victim AA for consumption.
According to AKBP Suparman, the drug given by the suspect AS was then given to the victim as many as 6 tablets which were used simultaneously with details of two tablets being placed under the tongue, two tablets being taken and two tablets being inserted into the genitals.
"After taking the drug given by the suspect AS, sister AA experienced vomiting and was finally taken to the Kepahiang Hospital, and after being treated for about three days, she was declared dead," he explained.
For their actions, the suspects, he said, were charged with violating Article 194 of Law No.36/2009, concerning Health in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code or Article 56 of the Criminal Code or Article 196 of Law No. 36/2009, concerning Health in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code or Article 56 of the Criminal Code, which carries a penalty of 10 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 1 billion.
