River Water Pollution In Denpasar Turns Red, DLHK Takes Action On Screen Printing

DENPASAR - The Environment and Hygiene Service (DLHK) team of Denpasar City, Bali, moved quickly to respond to the viral video of the river turning reddish in the area on Jalan Resimuka Barat, Tegal Kertha Village, Denpasar.

Head of Denpasar City DLHK, IB Putra Wirabawa said the Denpasar City DLHK Task Force team took quick steps by exploring the area around the river. Waste disposal was also secured.

His party controls the screen printing business in the area around the river. This business is known to be a source of screen printing waste and causes the river to become polluted and turn reddish in color.

"Yes, we have arranged it, the cause is the screen printing or dyeing business that throws waste carelessly", said the man who is familiarly called Gustra, Thursday, April 7.

According to him, access to waste disposal is also controlled. This activity is also a follow-up to reports and information from the surrounding community.

"This activity is one of the efforts to create an orderly, safe and comfortable Denpasar City", he said.

The inspection is carried out by Regional Regulation Number 1, 2015 concerning public order. Therefore, those who violate this will be escorted and subject to sanctions in the form of a Minor Crime trial at the Denpasar District Court.

He hopes that the community and business actors are orderly by the rules. Violation will be punished.

"This activity is not to find fault with the community, but to instill the importance of orderly administration for the community both in working and carrying out their business", he explained.
