The House Of Representatives Budgeting For Curtains For Office Houses At IDR 48.7 Billion, BURT Suggests The Secretariat General Of The DPR To Review

JAKARTA - The chairman of the House of Representatives' Household Affairs Agency (BURT), Agung Budi Santoso, advised the House of Representatives Secretariat General to review the procurement of curtains for the official houses of members of the House of Representatives, which is budgeted at IDR 48.7 billion.

Because according to Agung, currently people are having difficulty getting basic ingredients, especially cooking scarce oil and the price is high.

"We will ask the Secretariat General of the Indonesian House of Representatives to review the budget ceiling. Currently, there is still a COVID-19 pandemic and a shortage of cooking oil, so we must save more on the budget. We must have a sense of crisis", Agung told reporters, Wednesday, March 30.

Agung said that although the procurement of curtains had been planned for a long time, the Secretariat General of the House of Representatives should find the right time so that the public does not think that the members of the council are wasting money in the midst of a difficult situation like today.

"I think the execution of the procurement of curtains must wait for the right time to be realized, all must be more transparent regarding this matter, including supervision by related parties", he stressed.

As is known, the DPR has provided a budget ceiling of IDR 48.7 billion for the procurement of curtains in 505 housing units for members of the House of Representatives in Kalibata, South Jakarta. Where one house will get a set of curtains worth around IDR 90 million if calculated with taxes.

The Secretary-General of the House of Representatives, Indra Iskandar, said that the procurement of curtains had long been proposed but had only been budgeted for at this time since the last curtain replacement was carried out in 2009.
