Muhammadiyah Asks Takbiran Residents To Stay At Home But Not Forbidden At Mosques

JAKARTA - PP Muhammadiyah issued a regulation containing an appeal that the Eid al-Fitr 2022 takbir should be carried out in their respective homes. However, there is no prohibition if people want to do it in a mosque or prayer room.

The rules are contained in Circular No. 01/2022 regarding guidelines for worship during Ramadan. The SE was signed by the General Secretary of Muhammadiyah, Haedar Nasir and the General Secretary of Muhammadiyah, Abdul Mu'ti.

"Takbir which is done by going around is not recommended to be done," said the SE, Tuesday, March 29, as reported by Antara

In the SE, those who want to hold takbiran outside the home must meet a number of conditions, such as no worshipers in the vicinity who are indicated as positive for COVID-19.

Furthermore, it is recommended to limit the number of people to no more than 10 people, and continue to apply health protocols in a disciplined manner.

Then, regarding the guidelines for Eid prayer, for people who live in the vicinity of where there is a transmission of COVID-19, it can be done at home.

Meanwhile, for people around their homes where there is no transmission of COVID-19, Eid prayers can be held in small fields or open places with not too many worshipers.

The community/citizens of the association must fulfill a number of prokes provisions when holding Eid prayers in the field/mosque, such as the discipline of wearing masks, delivering sermons for a maximum of 15 minutes, not being carried out in large groups or separately in small groups with restrictions on the number of worshipers attending.

Furthermore, do not distribute infaq boxes and store them in certain places with attention to arrangements so as not to crowd, comply with health protocols related to COVID-19 prevention, such as maintaining cleanliness of the place, body hygiene, measuring body temperature, not shaking hands, not crowding, and so on. .

The Eid prayer halls can be closed by following the provisions, the mosque/mushala has good ventilation, worshipers are required to wear KN95 masks or use cloth masks that are double-layered with surgical masks, and all worshipers who attend the mosque/mushala have received at least two doses of vaccine.

"If these conditions cannot be met, the prayer rows remain far apart," the letter reads.

If a positive confirmed case of COVID-19 is found, the takmir ensures that worshipers who are in direct contact with the affected will receive quarantine treatment, further treatment, and the mosque will be closed again for a week.
