Assertive! Not Yet Vaccinated Against COVID-19, ASN Salaries In This District Will Be Withheld

BENGKULU - The Government of Mukomuko Regency, Bengkulu Province, applies strict rules to the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) in its territory. For those who have not been vaccinated against COVID-19, the ASN salary will be withheld.

"The first step we will take is announcing and confirming the regent's circular regarding the suspension of payment of honorarium for ASN activities", said the Acting Secretary of the Mukomuko Regency, Yandaryat, in a statement, Tuesday, March 29.

He explained that this firm rule was issued after his party found that there were ASN data consisting of Civil Servants (PNS) and government employees with contractual agreements (PPPK) in Mukomuko Regency that had not been vaccinated. Of the approximately 3,000 ASN, 400 of them have not been vaccinated

He stated that in addition to implementing sanctions for delaying the payment of ASN salaries, the local government also applied the employee income allowance (TPP).

"Unless he (ASN and PPPK, ed.) has strong reasons such as 'comorbid' or comorbidities, but they can still take vaccinations at this regional hospital", he added, launching Antara.

He considered that if the ASN was still able to carry out work in the office, then the person concerned was still healthy and eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

Previously, the Head of Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) of the Health Office Mukomuko Jajad Sudrajat noted that 400 of the approximately 3,000 ASN in the local district government had not received the first dose of the vaccine.

In addition, he said, there are still many ASNs who have received the first dose of vaccine but have not received the second dose, let alone the third dose of vaccine or booster.

He assessed that the awareness of ASN and the local community following the second dose of vaccination is low, so there must be intervention from the local government in the form of administrative sanctions for those who have not been vaccinated.

So far, he said, the COVID-19 vaccination was still running in this area because of the initiation of the local resort police, the Military District Commander, and the Bengkulu Regional State Intelligence Agency (BIN).
