79 Of 80 COVID-19 Patient Isolation Facilities In Bangka Belitung Are Empty

PANGKALPINANG - As many as 79 of the 80 integrated isolation facilities for COVID-19 patients available in the Province of the Bangka Belitung Islands are empty according to data from the local COVID-19 Task Force.

Secretary of the COVID-19 Task Force for the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, Mikron Antariksa, said that currently there are only seven COVID-19 patients occupying an integrated isolation facility in the Bangka Belitung Islands.

"Only seven of the 943 bed units are occupied by COVID-19 patients, while 936 bed units are still empty," he said in Pangkalpinang, Friday, March 25.

He also explained that after the addition of 116 COVID-19 patients and 237 recovered patients and five patients died, there were 1.334 people infected with the coronavirus in Bangka Belitung.

According to him, the regional government urges people infected with the coronavirus to undergo quarantine in centralized isolation facilities provided by the government to minimize the risk of transmitting COVID-19.

"By utilizing this special health service for handling COVID-19, it will certainly reduce the number of cases," he said as quoted by Antara.
