SURABAYA - The Head of the Traffic Police Corps, Inspector General Firman Shantyabudi, ordered his staff to prepare security for the 2022 Eid homecoming.

"I ask the entire Police and the ranks on duty to prepare security for each of their duties", he said when gathering the traffic directors of the Indonesian National Police through the National Coordination Meeting in Surabaya, as reported by Antara, Thursday, March 24.

His party is ready to oversee the implementation of the homecoming on Lebaran this year by holding "Operation Ketupat 2022".

Firman asked that after the National Coordination Meeting a number of preparations were made to welcome homecoming, starting from the preparation of the people who would go home to preparing information.

"Today, the managing directors, especially the traffic director, have deliberately gathered them to follow up on the ranks in the field", he said.

"Things start from preparation, namely the preparation of information, preparation of the people who will go home, and the vehicles that will be used, to our preparation as officers who will be assigned", said Firman.

Previously, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) emphasized that going home or returning home during the 2022 Eid al-Fitr celebration was allowed as long as the travelers had received the first and second doses as well as a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The President also reminded that every activity in going home must be accompanied by the implementation of strict COVID-19 prevention health protocols.

Meanwhile, the Director General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation, Budi Setiyadi, said the police in carrying out their duties in the field can be seen during the momentum of Eid and other holidays.

"Idul Fitri momentum activities like this are indeed very difficult and then in the end we appreciate how the police work in the field to carry out their commitments", he said.

Budi hopes that people who want to carry out Eid al-Fitr homecoming will carry out a third vaccine to make it easier for the police to carry out their duties in the field.

"Thus, it is hoped that what the President has ordered will make it easier for the police, especially from transportation to carry out their duties in the field", said Budi.
