All COVID-19 Patient Isolation Beds In Babylon Have Never Been Used

PANGKALPINANG - A total of 936-bed units (Bed Occupancy Ratio/BOR) in centralized isolation in the Province of the Bangka Belitung Islands are empty or have not been used by COVID-19 patients.

The Bangka Belitung COVID-19 Handling Task Force said that was because residents who were exposed to the Coronavirus in their area preferred to undergo independent isolation.

"Today, only seven of the 943 total BORs are filled with COVID-19 patients", said Secretary of the Bangka Belitung Micron Space Task Force for Handling COVID-19 at Pangkalpinang Mikron Antariksa, Thursday, March 24.

He explained that based on the latest COVID-19 case data, the total number of COVID-19 patients required to be isolated in Babylon is 1,460 people, with details of 1,351 patients undergoing independent isolation, seven patients being isolated in centralized isolations and the rest being treated at a referral hospital because they have congenital diseases.

"Currently the bed occupancy rate in the centralized isolation is 0.74 percent, so many BORs are still empty for handling people exposed to the Coronavirus", he said, as reported by Antara.

He said the number of cases of people exposed to the Coronavirus increased by 101 with a cumulative 64,918 people, recovered patients increased by 220 with a cumulative 61,891 people spread across Pangkalpinang City, Bangka Regency, Central Bangka, West Bangka, South Bangka, Belitung, and East Belitung.

"Today, the number of patients who died from COVID-19 has also increased by three, bringing the total number of deaths from the Coronavirus to 1,567", he said.

According to him, although the daily cases of COVID-19 have begun to decline, the task force continues to encourage residents exposed to this virus to undergo isolation in centralized isolations.

In addition, his party continues to intensify socialization and educate the public to always discipline themselves by following health protocols, such as wearing masks, washing hands with soap, avoiding crowds, distance, and others.

"We urge people who have not been vaccinated to immediately visit the COVID-19 vaccination service centers to increase their immunity from this Coronavirus", he said.
