Haris Azhar Submits 15-20 Lists Of Evidence Of Luhut Pandjaitan's Involvement In Intan Jaya's Economic Crimes

JAKARTA - Director of Lokataru Haris Azhar submitted new evidence to investigators in the alleged defamation case against the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.

The evidence is in the form of a document containing research material on the alleged involvement of Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan in economic crimes in Intan Jaya, Papua.

"The evidence we (submitted, ed) is no longer only about research from 9 organizations but materials written by 9 organizations," Haris told reporters, Wednesday, March 23.

Haris also briefly explained the contents of the document. For example, budget data to statements from certain parties stating that Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan was involved.

"For example, the articles of association from the company, then the statement from the company in Australia which states that there is a share share in the companies that mentions the name Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan," he said.

In addition, Haris Azhar's attorney, Nurkholis Hidayat, said that at least a dozen documents had been given to investigators. The evidence is believed to be able to shed light on the alleged defamation case that has named his client a suspect.

"We have about 15 or 20 lists of evidence given," said Nurkholis.

With the attachment of the evidence, Nurkholis hopes that investigators can re-examine the expert witnesses who have been questioned. Moreover, regarding the evidence submitted.

Thus, the process of handling cases of alleged defamation does not seem one-sided. "This evidence must also be assessed," said Nurkholis.

Previously, Haris Azhar said he would submit additional evidence and witnesses to strengthen the actual facts.

The statement was made after undergoing examination as a suspect in the alleged defamation case against Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Monday, March 21.

"In fact, on Wednesday morning, we will submit a number of evidences and the names of witnesses for us to ask to be examined in this investigation to make it fairer," said Haris.

Haris Azhar and Fatia have been named suspects in the alleged defamation case. The determination of the suspect was based on the results of the case title on Friday, March 18.
