The Wealth Of Chief Justice Of The Constitutional Court Anwar Usman, Has Increased Drastically During The COVID-19 Pandemic

JAKARTA - Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK), Anwar Usman, has been in the spotlight after it was reported that he would marry President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) second sister, Idayati. How much is Anwar Usman's total wealth?

The news was conveyed by the Mayor of Solo, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, who is also the eldest son of President Jokowi.

"You already know. Ask the person concerned, (the wedding schedule) I don't know", Gibran said in Solo, quoted from Antara, Monday, March 21.

Then how much wealth is Usman who will be President Jokowi's brother-in-law?

Based on the State Administrators Wealth Report (LHKPN) submitted by Anwar to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), he was recorded to have a wealth of IDR 26.4 billion in the 2020 period. This number increased dramatically compared to the previous reporting in the 2019 period.

He is recorded to have 31 units of assets in the form of land and buildings consisting of 25 lands and the rest in the form of land and buildings in Bima, West Southeast Nusantara, and South Tangerang. The total is IDR 5,114,000,000.

Furthermore, he recorded ownership of four cars and one motorbike with a value of IDR 317.5 million.

In addition, Anwar also reported securities worth IDR333,670,000 and cash and cash equivalents worth IDR 20,692,646,968. He had no debt so his property was not deducted.

Meanwhile, for 2019, Usman's assets are only IDR 5,021,500,000. He recorded ownership of assets with a value of IDR 4,682,500,000 with a total of 31 units in Bima, West Nusa Tenggara; Bekasi; Lumajang; and South Tangerang.

Then he also registered ownership of motorized vehicles with a value of IDR 339 million consisting of four cars and motorbikes.

In 2019, Usman did not record the ownership of securities as well as cash and cash equivalents. He also has no debt.
