COVID-19 Update As Of March 21: Decreasing, 4.699 New Cases Today

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 154.609 specimens with 4.699 new positive cases of COVID-19.

This daily number of cases decreased from the day before, namely Sunday, March 20 with 5.922 new cases from the examination of 122.064 specimens.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 5.967.182 people and active cases have fallen by 16.345 to 203.345," said Ministry of Health data, Monday, March 21.

Today's recovered cases increased by 20.888 people, bringing the total to 5.609.945 recovered people. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 154 cases and a total of 153.892 people.

The province with the newest cases was in West Java with 1.007 cases and a total of 1.088.802 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with 862 new cases with a total of 1.229.197 cases. Central Java with 661 new cases and a total of 619.051 cases. Banten with 351 new cases and a total of 285.586 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Java with an additional 5.715 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an additional 1.820 recovered cases, Central Java with an additional 1.635 recovered cases, and DI Yogyakarta with an additional 1.306 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 90.519.968.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week was 9.24 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 5.929 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 194.785.493 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 154.370.080 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was 16.318.304. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208.265.720 people.
