Fahri Hamzah Was Grateful That The Trade And Lodging In His Area In NTB Were Selling Well

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the Gelora Party, Fahri Hamzah, admitted that he did not watch the MotoGP race live at the Mandalika Circuit, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) on Sunday, March 20. Fahri is known to come from the province of NTB.

However, Fahri is grateful that the tourists' goods and accommodations belonging to the community in the area where the MotoGP is held are attracted. Even local food is selling well.

"Even though I don't watch @MotoGP, I as a local man say thank you for the happiness these days... Trade is selling and there is not 1 empty hotel room... Houses can be rented quite large, Puyung rice and Taliwang chicken soared in price", Fahri said on his Twitter account, @Fahrihamzah, Monday, March 21.

Fahri's confession invites comments from netizens. Many netizens were surprised that Fahri did not fly to NTB to watch MotoGP live. Not a few also commented on Fahri who arrived from the event organized by the Indonesian government.

"It would be wise as a figure to participate, our area, you know", replied the account @AngkuKa**.

"Makes money Bro Fahri. Taliwang grilled chicken is really badass", continued the account @Elvadin**.

Previously, House of Representatives Chair Puan Maharani also said that the 2022 Mandalika MotoGP had a good impact on the economy in NTB after being hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The last few days flights to Lombok are full because of the race in Mandalika. Of course, this will also help the MSME, hotel, and local tourism industries in NTB", said Puan in a written statement, Sunday, March 20.

Puan hopes that other tourist sites can also quickly rise from the slump due to the pandemic. This hope is shown to Bali which is holding the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

Puan said the IPU event was attended by around 1,000 people from 115 delegated countries. "We hope that the IPU session will be the beginning of an economic revival and the recovery of tourism in Bali and the country", she said.
