MATARAM - Two days before the MotoGP event at Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit as many as 6,200 hotel rooms, both star and non-star hotels, bungalows, homestays, villas, flats and tents in a number of areas on the island of Lombok have not been sold.

The head of the NTB Tourism Office, H Yusron Hadi, said that more than 11,000 hotel rooms had been booked during the MotoGP. The most booked hotel rooms are in the Mandalika, Senggigi, and Mataram City areas.

"We have held a meeting with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and also the national team and on this occasion we conveyed the condition of the inn, which so far has filled more than 11,000 rooms and there are still 6,200 rooms left," said Yusron Hadi in Mataram, reported by Antara, Wednesday, 16 March.

However, not a few tourists have also booked rooms in the Sekotong, Jerowaru, Tete Batu, Batukliang - Kopang, Senaru, Sembalun areas, the three Gili areas (Trawangan, Meno and Air) and others.

He explained that in the three Gilis, there are still 2,600 hotel rooms, bungalows, villas, homestays and sarhunta available in the area. That's why he invites domestic and foreign tourists to stay on the three Gilis during the MotoGP event, especially from Gili to Mandalika it also doesn't take too long.

Yusron also saw that room prices in the three Gilis did not increase during this MotoGP. For example, homestay rooms are between Rp. 300 - 400 thousand and the prices for star rooms are quite varied depending on the type of room selected.

"It took about 1 hour and 30 minutes to arrive on Gili, and all parties have provided adequate transportation, both from land to Bangsal, from Bangsal to Gili, a speedboat has been provided which is ready to serve passengers for 24 hours," he explained.

For the Sembalun area, East Lombok, there are still hundreds of rooms that have not been booked by tourists at this MotoGP momentum. The exact number is as many as 279 rooms consisting of hotels, homestays and camping ground scattered at several points there.

"In addition to tourists being able to watch the race in Mandalika, people can travel to the mountains in Sembalun. From Sembalun to Mandalika it can take about 2.5 hours," he said.

For the Mandalika area, accommodation providers such as Eiger and Bobobox have provided 80 tents located on the beach. There are tents with a number that can be filled by 2-3 people or 3-4 people.

"On the 18th-19th, there are already full bookings in the price range of IDR700-800 per tent. Meanwhile, for March 20th, only 50 percent have been booked," he said.
