Failed To Overtake On The Shoulder Of The Road, Angkot Overturned On The Tangerang – Merak Toll Road, 13 Passengers Were Injured

SERANG - The Daihatsu Grandmax city transportation car (angkot) with police number A 1931 FC overturned on the Tangerang - Merak Km 66,500 Toll Road towards Tangerang, Wednesday, March 16, at around 05.44 WIB.

"There has been a single accident on the Merak toll Road to Tangerang at KM 66,500, namely one unit of the Daihatsu Grandmax angkot car number A 1931 FC driven by JN (33) which overturned on the toll road," said the Director of Lantas Polda Banten Kombes Pol Budi Mulyanto when confirmed .

Budi explained, based on witness testimony, the accident occurred when an angkot car was traveling from Merak to Tangerang. Arriving at the crime scene (TKP) the vehicle overtook over the shoulder of the road.

"The public transportation eventually went out of control or swerved to the right, as a result, the vehicle reversed with the final position of the vehicle in the slow lane with the right wheel position on top facing west or towards Merak," explained Budi.

Receiving the report, the Banten Police Ditlantas personnel immediately went to the location and evacuated the victims.

"Personnel have evacuated the driver and 13 other passengers who were injured to the Sari Asih Hospital in Serang City to receive treatment. Then we carried out the crime scene and secured the vehicle to conduct further investigations," he said.
