Police Still Chasing Siomay Seller Suspected As Perpetrator Of Sexual Violence Against Children In Jagakarsa

JAKARTA - Siomay seller who was reported for alleged sexual violence against minors, has the status of DPO (Wanted List).

This was conveyed directly by the Head of Criminal Investigation at the South Jakarta Police, Grand Commissioner Adjutant of Police Ridwan Soplanit. Ridwan said the alleged perpetrators were still being chased by members.

"(Siomay seller) has become a DPO," said Ridwan when confirmed, Tuesday, March 15.

The disclosure of the case began when the victim's parents reported an alleged sexual offense committed by a siomay seller in the Jagakarsa area, South Jakarta, since January 2022.

South Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Grand Commissioner Pol Budhi Herdi Susianto said investigators were following up on reports related to the alleged child abuse.

"The victim's parents have reported it to the Resort Police. We are currently being followed up by our investigators," said Budhi, when confirmed by reporters.

Confirmed separately, the victim's father, with the initials MBR, said that the child was allegedly sexually assaulted by a siomay seller.

The allegation was discovered after his daughter complained to MBR on Friday, January 21. The victim revealed that at that time the child contacted MBR via cell phone to admit that she was being treated by K alias Tebet, the siomay seller.

"That was last Friday. At first, my daughter told the neighbors. Because she was afraid of telling the story to me, she was worried that I would fight with this suspect," he said.

According to MBR's statement, as a result of this act, his daughter complained of pain in vital body parts when urinating.

MBR reported the alleged violence to the South Jakarta Metro Police based on Police Report Number: LP/B/183/I/2022/RJS dated January 24, 2022.

The victim's parents also hope that the police will immediately arrest the perpetrator.
