JAKARTA - The Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) has issued Inmendagri Number 16 of 2022 concerning Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) Level 3, Level 2, and Level 1 COVID-19 in the Java and Bali Region which is valid for the next week.

The Director-General of Regional Administration Development at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Safrizal ZA, revealed that although the pandemic conditions were starting to improve, there were no districts/cities in Java-Bali that had experienced a decline in the level of assessment to Level 1 PPKM.

"The extension of the PPKM as stated in the Minister of Home Affairs Number 16 of 2022 for the Java-Bali region will be effective from March 15 to 21, 2022. Until now, no regions in the Java and Bali regions have entered Level 1," said Safrizal in his statement, Tuesday, March 15.

Meanwhile, regencies/cities that have implemented Level 4 PPKM are still 7 regions, including Magelang City, Madiun City, Sleman Regency, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta City, Kulonprogo Regency, and Gunungkidul Regency.

However, the improvement in conditions occurred in the increase in the number of regions implementing Level 2 PPKM and a decrease in the number of Level 3 PPKM regions.

"There has been an increase in the number of regions at Level 2 from 37 regions to 55 regions. Meanwhile, there has been a decrease in the number of regions at Level 3 from 84 regions to 66 regions," he explained.

Meanwhile, for areas outside Java and Bali, the extension of the PPKM is regulated in Inmendagri Number 17 of 2022 which will be effective from March 15 to 28, 2022.

Outside Java-Bali, the number of regions in PPKM Level 3 experienced a very significant decrease from 320 regions to 200 regions.

In addition, the number of regions located at Level 2 of 63 regions has increased to 168 regions, and Level 1 from the previous 3 regions to 18 regions.

"Outside of Java and Bali currently also showing better conditions, where many regencies/cities have dropped from Level 3 to Level 2," said Safrizal.
