JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) summoned a member of the PDIP Party faction of the DKI Jakarta Regional Representative Council (DPRD), Syahrial, for questioning regarding the alleged corruption in the implementation of Formula E.

Syahrial was summoned by the KPK in his position as Deputy Chairman of Commission E of the DKI DPRD for the 2014-2019 period. In this case, Commission E has overseen the budgeting of the Youth and Sports Office to organize Formula E since 2019. One of the proposed budgets is a commitment fee.

Syahrial's summons was confirmed by the chairman of the PDIP faction of the DKI DPRD, Gembong Warsono. Gembong said Syahrial's arrival today was a delay from the summons schedule because Syahrial had tested positive for COVID-19.

"Actually, the schedule has been long, together with Pak Pras (Chairman of the DKI DPRD) yesterday. However, when the call came, Pak Syahrial happened to be positive, got an omicron. So, the postponement is only now scheduled," said Gembong when confirmed, Wednesday, March 9.

However, Gembong emphasized that the summons had nothing to do with the PDIP faction in the DPRD, even though two members of his faction had already been summoned by the KPK for questioning.

This is because the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) also summoned the Chair and Deputy Chair of Commission E of the DKI DPRD for the 2019-2024 period, namely Iman Satria from the Gerindra faction and Anggara Wicitra Sastroamidjojo from the PSI Party faction.

"What was called was related to the allocation of the budget. For example, at that time, Commission E," he said.

So far, the KPK has continued to investigate allegations of corruption related to the implementation of the Formula E racing event in DKI Jakarta to look for elements of corruption. It is important to raise this allegation to the level of investigation.

"Once again, the investigation is still looking for the criminal incident. When there is a criminal incident based on sufficient preliminary evidence, it can be escalated to the investigative process," Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Affairs Ali Fikri told reporters quoted Thursday, February 10.

Meanwhile, regarding the investigation process, Ali refused to go into further detail. However, he said investigators were gathering evidence of the alleged riot.

"The investigative team is still collecting evidence, namely information and information from the summoned parties. Of course, we cannot detail what the material is, who will and has been summoned in this investigation process," Ali added.
