PPKM Java-Bali Extended, Good News Jabodetabek And Greater Surabaya Down To Level 2

JAKARTA - The government has extended the implementation of restrictions on community activities (PPKM) in Java and Bali. Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, said several regions experienced a decline in the level of assessment.

"Along with the improvement in the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, which is getting better day by day. The number of regencies/cities that have returned to Level 2 has increased quite significantly", Luhut said in a virtual press conference, Monday, March 7.

Some of them are the agglomeration areas of Greater Jakarta and Greater Surabaya which will implement PPKM Level 2 for the next week. Previously, these areas implemented PPKM Level 3

Regencies/cities in the Greater Jakarta area include Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi. Meanwhile, Greater Surabaya includes Surabaya, Gresik, Lamongan, Bangkalan, Mojokerto, and Sidoarjo.

"Currently the Jabodetabek (Jakarta-Bogor-Depok-Tangerang-Bekasi) and Greater Surabaya agglomerations have returned to Level 2 due to a decrease in daily confirmation cases and hospitalizations", said Luhut.

"Regarding the details of this information will be contained in the Inmendagri which will be issued today", he continued.

Meanwhile, for other agglomeration areas in Java, such as Greater Bandung, Malang Raya, Solo Raya, and Greater Semarang, currently, the status of PPKM is Level 3. Likewise, DI Yogyakarta and Bali are still implementing PPKM Level 3.

"The rate of hospitalization in all hospitals in Java-Bali has also decreased except for DI Yogyakarta. However, we expect DIY to decrease in the next few days", said Luhut.
