ACEH - The boat carrying 114 ethnic Rohingya who were stranded in Alue Buya Pasie Village, Jangka Subdistrict, Bireuen Regency, Aceh, was not damaged.

"The condition of the Rohingya ship is in good condition and there is no damage, it has been checked," said Panglima Laot Bireuen Badruddin when contacted from Banda Aceh, Antara, Sunday, March 6.

Previously, as many as 114 ethnic Rohingya were again stranded in the Kuala Raja coastal area, Alue Buya Pasie Village, Jangka District, Bireuen Regency, at around 02.00 a.m. local time.

Badruddin said the Rohingya landed on their own without any help and the fishermen were not aware of it. "Fishermen have not gone to sea because of bad weather, fishermen have not found them. The landing location is the same as in 2019," he said.

After arriving on land, said Badruddin, the fishermen were immediately assisted by the community and placed in the prayer room of Alue Buya Pasie Village, Jangka District, Bireuen Regency.

Badruddin has reported to the local government, police, navy, and UNHCR to get further treatment.

"It is possible that in the afternoon we will be transferred to Lhokseumawe, the UNHCR team from Banda Aceh is also on their way," said Badruddin.
