There Is An Invisible Project, The Cost Of Building A Formula E Circuit Increases To IDR 60 Billion

JAKARTA - The construction of the Formula E circuit is currently still ongoing. The person in charge of Formula E construction at PT Jaya Konstruksi, Ari Wibowo, admitted that the cost of the track construction in the Ancol area increased by IDR 10 billion.

Previously, the Regional-owned Enterprise (BUMD) PT Jakarta Propertindo estimated that the construction of the electric car race track would cost IDR 50 billion. Apparently, the need for the cost to be IDR 60 billion.

"IDR 60 billion specifically for the track, is not included in the grand stand, spectator stands, it is not included," said Ary when met in the Ancol area, North Jakarta, Sunday, March 6.

Ari explained the reason for the increase in the cost of working on the Formula E circuit. He explained that there was additional work that was not included in the predictions of Jakpro and Jaya Konstruksi, namely hardening of the soft soil.

"There are jobs that can be seen, some are unseen (not visible). For example, how many meters of soft soil is there in this soil, what kind of soft soil is it. That's unseen," said Ari.

"So, the unseen finally becomes a priority, it is estimated. It turns out that the unseen that is invisible is heavier," he added.

As of today, the progress of the circuit work, which began on February 3, 2022, has reached 52 percent. It is estimated that the circuit will be completed in early April 2022.

Ary admitted that one of the obstacles faced was the weather in the current rainy season. When it rains, the workers are forced to stop the construction process.

"The problem is because of the weather. Basically everything is under control. If the weather is the only thing we can do. If it's hot, we'll speed everything up (work). If it rains, stop," he said.

It is known, the shape of the Formula E track is said to be similar to a lumping horse. Then, the location of the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit has 18 bends, 600 meters of straight track, clockwise direction, and 2.4 kilometers of track length.

Circuit work is divided into 5 zones. The most difficult zone to work on is zone 5. The zone, which is located on the easternmost side of the Ancol area, covers 40 percent of the circuit work,

After completion of construction, the circuit will be reviewed and tested by FEO as the license holder of Formula E. Until finally, Formula E will officially be held in Ancol on June 4, 2022.
