KPK Investigate Giving Money To Work On Projects In Tulungagung

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) continues to investigate allegations of bribery in the Tulungagung Regency Government which previously ensnared the former Tulungagung Regent, Syahri Mulyo. One of them investigated the issue of giving money to win projects in the area.

This investigation was carried out by examining four witnesses. They are members of the DPRD Tulungagung Imam Kambali; private sector named Budi Santoso; entrepreneur named Aan Widuri Kurniani; and the treasurer of PT Kediri Putra, Sri Mulyati.

"Located at the Tulungagung Resort Police Station on Wednesday, March 2, the team of investigators has examined the witnesses," said Acting Spokesperson for the KPK for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, to reporters, Friday, March 4.

The witnesses, continued Ali, were present and had been questioned by KPK investigators. One of the information that was dug up was regarding the giving of money to get a work project package in Tulungagung Regency.

"Witnesses were present and the Investigative Team was still investigating, among others, regarding the alleged provision of a sum of money by parties related to this case to be able to win various work project packages at the Tulungagung Regency Government," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK is currently developing a bribery case that ensnared Syahri Mulyo. The development of this case is already in the investigation stage.

The entry of this case into the investigation process is usually followed by the determination of the suspect. However, the anti-corruption commission has not specified who they are and what their roles are.

The reason is that the details of who is a suspect and the articles suspected as well as the construction of the case will be conveyed when efforts to force arrest or detention have been carried out.

For information, the former Regent of Tulungagung Syahri Mulyo is suspected of accepting bribes of up to Rp. 2.5 billion. This receipt is a fee for the road improvement infrastructure development project at the PUPR Office of the Tulungagung Regency Government.

He has been sentenced to 10 years in prison and a fine of IDR 700 million in this case. Apart from Syahri, the KPK has also named Agung Prayitno as a private company, Sutrisno as the Head of PUPR for the Tulungagung Regency Government, and Susilo Prabowo as a private sector contractor or contractor.
