Child Vaccination In Central Bangka Has 72 Percent

KOBA - The distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine for children aged 6-11 years in Central Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province has reached 72.80 percent.

"To date, there have been 15,579 children who have been injected with the vaccine, out of the target of 24,400 children or 72.80 percent," said the Head of the Central Bangka Health Service, Dr. Anas Maarif in Koba, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, February 23.

He also said that until now the vaccination program for various groups in Central Bangka has reached 81.73 percent of the total 153,277 targeted residents.

"We continue to intensify the massive vaccination program, we are targeting at least 1,000 people to get a dose of vaccine every day," he said.

The regional government is accelerating the vaccination program to form communal immunity so that community activities can run normally.

"This year we have started a vaccination program for children aged 6 to 11 years," he said.

Anas said that in 2022 the vaccination program will be intensified for children aged 6 to 11 years.

"Of course, we hope for the support of parents to run a vaccination program among children," he said.
