SAMARINDA - The Government of Samarinda City, East Kalimantan, continues to open the implementation of face-to-face learning (PTM) for all levels of formal education with a number of requirements in accordance with the provisions of the Central Government.
The Mayor of Samarinda, Andi Harun, said that the City Government did not close schools because based on the national policy, namely the 4 Ministerial Decree on Guidelines for the Implementation of Learning in a Pandemic Period, schools were still open.
"This is a temporary middle ground that we are doing to address some students who are indicated to be positive," said Andi Harun in Samarinda, Tuesday, February 22.
According to Andi Harun, the Samarinda City Government through the Education Office (Disdik) will issue alternatives to students or their parents to choose not to go to school and take lessons from home through an online system.
For students who choose not to participate in PTM, he explained, the school is obliged to prepare facilities so that they can participate in distance learning (PJJ) or online.

"Our education office has given us the responsibility to go to school to ensure that," said Andi Harun.
Meanwhile, schools whose students have been detected as having confirmed COVID-19 in the 0-5 percent category will be temporarily closed for five days.
During those five days, the school will be sterilized, such as spraying disinfectant. Meanwhile, students or teachers who are confirmed positive will be given time to rest at home.
Furthermore, for schools in which there are positive confirmed cases with a category of five percent and above, a temporary closure will be carried out for 14 days.
During the temporary closure, the school will also be sprayed with disinfectant.
This is done so that after the temporary closure period is over, the schoolroom is ensured to be clean so that the implementation of PTM can run smoothly again.
"This policy still refers to the Decree of the four ministers regarding the prevention of COVID-19," said Andi Harun.
As for the activities of the general public, there will still be restrictions such as a seating distance of about one meter.
In addition, the discipline of health protocols (Prokes) is also required to be maximal, such as the use of masks, washing hands and others.
"We will install CCTV cameras in a number of crowded places such as markets to make it easier to monitor the implementation of the process," said Andi Harun.
