JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan admitted that he was asked to return to meet with the Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartato to discuss the preparation of the Jakarta PSBB for offices.
Anies said, the meeting will take place on Saturday, September 12, tomorrow. They will discuss the issue of closing office operations in nonessential areas during the PSBB period.
"To honor the request of the Coordinating Minister for the Economy as Chairman of the Task Force (Chairman of the Committee for Handling Covid-19 and National Economic Recovery), tomorrow we will discuss details of restrictions related to offices," said Anies at the City Hall of DKI, Central Jakarta, Friday, September 11.
Although there is a discussion again, Anies said the provisions regarding the company's obligation to implement a work from home (WFH) system have not changed.
There are only 11 essential business sectors allowed to operate in an office. These sectors include health, foodstuffs, energy, communication and information technology, finance, logistics, hospitality, construction, strategic industries.
Then basic services, public utilities, and industry which are designated as national vital objects and certain objects, as well as daily needs.
"If (exceptions work from home) there are eleven fixed sectors, there will be no change because that is the key," said Anies.
Then, Anies appealed to offices and business activities in Jakarta to independently limit their office activities from now on.
"I ask to start restricting. Why, because in the last 11 days, the jump in active cases (COVID-19) in Jakarta is very high. This is what distinguishes the current condition from before," explained Anies.
Previously, the Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto admitted that he did not agree with the WFH office rules again.
He said, not all workers can do work from home. Therefore, he suggested that 50 percent of the offices could still operate.
"We have conveyed that most of the office activities are flexible, around 50 percent at home and 50 percent in offices and 11 sectors remain open because DKI actually carries out the full PSBB," said Airlangga.
According to Airlangga, DKI Jakarta has actually implemented a full PSBB from March to June, then implemented a transitional PSBB from July to early September. However, due to an increase in COVID-19 cases, DKI Jakarta plans to re-implement the full PSBB.
"DKI is actually carrying out a full PSBB, transition, and this wants to be done fully again. Because most of those who were exposed from the existing data, 62 percent (positive COVID-19 patients) at the Kemayoran Hospital were based on public transportation. Several things that need to be evaluated are related to with odd-even. This has been conveyed to the Governor of DKI, "he said.
