MALANG - The Malang City Government has started to operate a centralized isolation facility (isoter) in the Joint Activity Center (SKB) in Blimbing District, Malang City. This location is intended for COVID-19 positive confirmation patients with mild symptoms.

Malang Mayor Sutiaji said that although the area already had an isoter facility at the Idjen Boulevard Field Hospital (RSL) belonging to the East Java Provincial Government, his party continued to add facilities for handling COVID-19.

"Isoters at RSL Idjen Boulevard are not only for residents of Malang City, but also serve patients from other areas. Because the capacity there is getting full, I ask the Health Office to open isoters for residents," said Sutiaji in Malang City, East Java, Between, Thursday, February 17th.

Sutiaji explained that the opening of the isoter facility in the SKB Building with a capacity of 50 beds was intended so that services for Malang City residents who were exposed to the corona virus could run well.

According to him, the existence of the isoter facility can help the people of Malang City who are confirmed positive for COVID-19, especially those with mild symptoms. His party will also coordinate with East Java Province for the opening of another isoter on Jalan Kawi.

He continued to ask the people of Malang City to be able to implement strict health protocols, especially when doing activities outside the home. So far, the public's understanding of the implementation of health protocols is considered quite good.

"This shows that the community has understood and their literacy level is also good in suppressing the spread of the COVID-19 virus," he said.

Currently, the Malang City Government continues to strengthen tracking and treatment so that the spike in the spread of positive COVID-19 confirmed patients can be resolved and the recovery rate is also higher.

Furthermore, Sutiaji also immediately coordinated with the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform to be able to open training centers in the Malang City area to be used as isoter facilities.

It was recorded that in the Malang City area there were 21,033 positive confirmed cases of COVID-19, with the number of active cases reaching 2,816. Of the total confirmed cases, 17,080 people were reported to have recovered, and 1,137 people were declared dead.
