MADIUN - Madiun Scope Railway Lovers Community (Pecel) +63 Madiun conducted anti-sexual harassment socialization at Madiun Station to respond to the rampant cases in public spaces today. This action cannot be separated from the role of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daop 7 Madiun as the party that invited the community.

"The issue of sexual harassment was chosen as an anticipatory step in cases of sexual harassment against passengers on the train. Although in the Daop 7 Madiun area there have been no findings or reports of sexual harassment on the train, but this issue is important so that the public, especially women, can be educated properly and dare to report if there is such an incident," said the Public Relations Manager of Daop 7 Madiun Ixfan Hendriwintoko, quoting Antara, Sunday, February 13.

The socialization activity was carried out by unfurling posters and banners about anticipating sexual harassment in the Madiun Station area. The Pecel +63 Madiun Community also provides tips to prevent sexual harassment on the train.

The head of the Pecel +63 Madiun Community, R. Ali Musa, said that by holding the socialization, he hoped to open up people's insight and understanding in preventing sexual harassment on the train so that they could suppress cases, especially in public spaces.

In addition to anti-sexual harassment socialization, socialization to prevent the spread of COVID-19 was also held. This was done considering that currently, active cases of COVID-19 are increasing in Indonesia.

Not only spreading posters and banners to prevent COVID-19, but the Pecel +63 Madiun community also distributed bags containing stickers, chocolates, flowers, hand sanitizer, and masks to prospective train passengers.

In addition to the station area, socialization activities were also carried out on trains, namely the Argo Wilis, Sri Tanjung, and Kahuripan trains when the train stopped at Madiun Station.

"We also hope that with the COVID-19 prevention socialization activities, we can motivate the public, especially train customers, to always apply the 5M health protocol so that they can prevent transmission and break the chain of COVID-19," said Ali.
