Sumatran Tiger Allegedly Prey For Tugiat Residents Of Inhil Riau, Victim's Condition Is Horrific When Found

RIAU - Tugiat (42) a resident of Inhil Riau was found dead horribly in the forest, suspected of being eaten by a Sumatran tiger. The victim's body was found on Saturday, February 6 at around 16.40 western Indonesia time.

The victim is an acacia logger worker belonging to PT Satria Perkasa Agung, in Gaung District, Indragiri Hilir (Inhil) Regency, Riau. Meanwhile, based on information from residents, the location is a Sumatran tiger crossing route that has changed its function.

Head of Region I Natural Resources Conservation (KSDA) Riau, Andri Hansen Siregar admitted that he had received information about the incident.

"Currently, a team has been dispatched to the location to confirm the information. The team will also check directly to the scene to determine whether the victim was really eaten by a tiger or other animal," he told reporters, Antara, Sunday, February 6.

From the information gathered, the victim was found by his colleagues who are also fellow loggers in a pathetic condition. Even the victim's face is no longer visible. In addition, one of the victim's legs had also been eaten by wild animals and left only the bones.

Indragiri Hilir Police Chief, Grand Commissioner Adjutant Dian Setiawan said, before being found dead, he left the company camp with three of his colleagues. However, until the afternoon the victim did not return and a search was carried out at the location.

"Yes, the incident in Gaung. The victim is a company employee and was found dead by another worker yesterday afternoon," said Dian.

The victim is thought to have been killed by a tiger. Because the condition of the victim is not intact and pathetic.

"The victim is a worker, but we just received a brief report from the police chief. It is suspected that a tiger was attacked by a tiger," said Dian.

After being found, the victim was taken to the PT Arara Abadi clinic, Merawang District, Pelalawan Regency. Then, the victim was taken to his family's house in Bengkalis.
