236,178 Surabaya Residents Have Been Injected With Booster Vaccines

SURABAYA - Surabaya City Deputy Mayor Armuji stated that the third or booster dose of vaccination in the "City of Heroes", East Java, has reached 10.65 percent or 236,178 people who have been vaccinated.

"It's been less than a month for the Booster Vaccination in Surabaya to go fast," he said in Surabaya, quoted by Antara, Saturday, February 5.

Armuji said that based on the latest information on vaccination, the Ministry of Health on Saturday recorded the achievement of booster vaccination reached 236,178 people with a percentage of 10.65 percent of the target.

According to him, vaccination in Surabaya exceeded the national target where in the first dose, 130.97 percent were recorded with 2,904,964 people and the second dose had reached 110.44 percent or 2,449,774 people who had been vaccinated.

"The Surabaya City Government through the ranks of the health office and puskesmas is speeding up vaccination. This is one of our efforts to reduce the number of COVID-19 and its impacts," he said.

The city government previously vaccinated the elderly, vulnerable groups, public servants and is currently targeting health cadres throughout the city of Surabaya.

"Those who are a vulnerable group and are in contact with the community are prioritized to get a booster vaccine," he said.

Armuji emphasized that the purpose of this booster vaccination is to increase the body's resistance and relieve symptoms from exposure to the COVID-19 virus, especially the new variant of Omicron.
