3 Indonesian Representatives Absent In Malaysia And India Open 2025

JAKARTA Three Indonesian representatives are confirmed to be absent from Malaysia and the 2025 India Open which will take place in January.

This information was conveyed by the Head of Development and Achievement Division (Head of Binpres) PBSI Eng Hian in a statement received by the media on Saturday, December 28, 2024.

"There are two men's doubles pairs and one men's singles that did not compete at the Malaysia Open 2025," reads Eng Hian's statement.

The two men's doubles pairs who were confirmed to be absent from the two events were Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana and Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Daniel Martin.

The men's singles who can't play are Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo. They were withdrawn with various considerations with the coaching team.

"This decision was taken by the coaches after analyzing the need for longer preparation so that they can appear prime after the training break," said Eng Hian.

These three representatives will be prepared to appear at the Indonesia Masters 2025 (Super 500 BWF level event) which will take place at Istora Senayan on 21-26 January 2025.

Malaysia Open 2025 which will be held at the Axiata Arena on January 7-12 is a Super 1000 level event, while India Open (14-19 January) is level Super 750 BWF.
