Previously, Japan had emerged as one of Asia's great powers in the world. Japan's greatness continues to be tested. They also made Pearl Harbor a target. A large military base belongs to the United States (US).

Japan's presence as a symbol of Asia's revival cannot be underestimated. Japan is like a thirst for enemy presence. Their fleet is ready to fight anyone. The combination of the economy and great strength made Japan even more confident.

They even invaded China in 1894. The invasion was considered successful. Even though only a few areas are occupied by Japan. Later Japan had a mission to unite Asia in its grasp.

The country of the Rising Sun is trying to fight anyone who gets in the way of his intentions. Uncle Sam's country, which incidentally the superpower, he is trying to fight. Japan's most memorable resistance is his attack on the strongest US military base in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on December 7, 1941.

The sudden attack had been thought of long ago. The attack fleet is on standby. The plan, which is close to perfect, made the US confused. Its strongest base was broken apart by Japan. The attack managed to destroy nearly 300 aircraft, 20 Navy ships, to thousands of people killed.

Japan also rejoiced. They tried to be the saviors of Asian countries colonized by European colonialism. One by one the places he released. Indonesia became one of them. The Dutch colonialists were beaten to the point of surrendering. The high trust of the Japanese soldiers came from the Pearl Harbor incident.

To build a fire in Asia, Japan has erupted the Pacific War. The strongest US fleet in the Pacific based at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii is a major barrier to Japan's ambition to having industry in southern countries.

Laksanamin Isoroku Yamamoto is drafting a secret attack plan to destroy the US fleet in September 1941, the fleet of Admiral Noihi Naguno who was appointed commander of operations moved from the Kuril Islands. With the strength of dozens of warships consisting of aircraft carriers, submarines, and tankers, Noihi Naguno fleet sailed east across the Pacific ocean via an unusual voyage by ships, "said Peter Kasenda in the book Soekarno under the Japanese Flag 1942-1945(2015).

The Pearl Harbor incident may have been going on for a long time. However, the wounds on those who survived remained stuck. Moreover, for families who lost their relatives. Pearl Harbor's wound continues to make an impression.

This condition was understood correctly by Shinzo Abe. The Japanese Prime Minister plans to come and express his deep condolences to the victims and the families of the victims. The plan was not a mere empty message. Abe also came directly to Pearl Harbor accompanied by President Barack Obama on December 28, 2016.

He immediately expressed his deep sorrow. He did not want a similar incident to happen again. He also tried to reopen the relationship between the US and Japan which had been damaged for a very long time.

"We must not repeat the horror of war. This is a pledge that has been taken by the Japanese people. For US soldiers lying within the USS Arizona, for the American people, and everyone in the world, I emphasize the firm pledge," Abe said as quoted by the BBC Indonesia website, December 28, 2016.
