JAKARTA - Airline PT AirAsia Indonesia Tbk stated that it has deployed 25 aircraft to help smooth the movement of people during the Christmas and New Year 2024/2025 holidays.

"This year, we have flown 25 planes to serve passengers on the Christmas and New Year holidays," said Indonesian President Director AirAsia Veranita Yosephine in Tangerang, quoted from Antara, Friday, December 27.

He said, of the dozens of aircraft fleets prepared, it is projected to serve more than 550,000 passengers with 180 flights during the Christmas and New Year holidays, from December 15, 2024 to January 7, 202.

"More than 550,000 passengers from the period 15 December to 7 January 2025 go and go home are what we serve," he said.

The target number of passengers targeted by AirAsia during the Christmas and New Year periods with 550,000 seats prepared for favorite domestic route flights, namely Jakarta-Bali, Jakarta-Silangit, and Banjarmasin-Bali.

"In domestic terms, there are still a lot of Jakarta-Denpasar, because Denpasar is the largest from Jakarta. Then Jakarta-Silangit, Lake Toba and also Banjarmasin-Denpasar," he said.

Meanwhile, international routes are Jakarta-Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Jakarta-Singapore flights. And this flight is a favorite route for the passengers of the Christmas and New Year holidays.

"If it's international as usual, the most are Jakarta-Kuala Lumpur, Bali-Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta-Singapore, all of which have increased because there are quite a lot of public interest at the end of this year," he said.

Judging from the traffic in the movement of passengers using AirAsia, said Veranita, it has increased by six percent when compared to the same period in the previous year.

"Last year's increase, if I'm not mistaken, was 20, 21, 22 planes, so there were an increase of about three to four planes for Nataru. The increase was six percent," he said.
