Protesters Harun Masiku Chaotic Throwing Stones And Land, KPK Reminds Criminal Threats

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has invited the public to express their aspirations regarding the completion of the search for former PDIP candidate Harun Masiku. However, do not let the action take place anarchically because there is a criminal threat.

This was conveyed by KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika in response to the demonstration asking Harun Masiku to be arrested on Monday, December 23. This action ended in chaos because the participants threw stones at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.

From observations in the field, this stone-throwing and soil action occurred after the demonstration would end at around 16.30 WIB. The police who were on guard even had time to use a shield to take cover from the throw.

"We understand the aspirations expressed by the community and as several occasions ago," Tessa told reporters at the location.

"But we also hope that people who convey these aspirations can convey well, do not vandalism, do not destroy because it can also become a separate criminal act," continued the spokesman with the investigator's background.

Previously reported, KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto said the search for former PDIP candidate Harun Masiku who was still at large was like a debt. His party wants the arrests to be made immediately.

This was conveyed by Setyo after the handover of positions (sertijab) for the leadership and supervisory board of the KPK from the 2019-2024 period to 2024-2029 on Friday, December 20.

"I am sure that everyone who is the leader, deputy, director has a great desire to resolve this case," Setyo told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.

Setyo ensured that Harun Masiku's search would be of concern. Moreover, he observed the current conditions, including a number of demonstrations at the anti-corruption commission office which demanded that the RI DPR's interim bribery (PAW) case be completed immediately.

"HM's problem, we will definitely respond to a lot of demonstrations. We will see how far the progress has been, the cooperation of investigations and others is a debt that has been quite long, quite long," said the former Director of KPK Investigation.
