NASA Welcomes Liechtenstein On The Artemis Moon Explorer Mission

JAKARTA NASA welcomes Liechtenstein as the 52nd country to become part of the Artemis family. This small country in Europe signed a memorandum of understanding at NASA Headquarters on December 20.

In its latest report, the US space agency said that Liechtenstein agreed to support sustainable exploration. Liechtenstein will also support NASA in carrying out responsible exploration missions.

NASA Deputy Administrator Pam Melroy, who was present at the signing of the contract, said that Liechtenstein would strengthen NASA's vision of exploring and experimenting in space. This vision will be limited by the principles of the Artemis Agreement.

"Today, as Liechtenstein signed the Artemis Agreement, we are stepping forward together, united by promises of cooperation and international discoveries," Melroy said after signing the contract. Liechtenstein's commitment strengthens our vision."

Melroy explained that the Artemis Agreement is limited to the principles of peace, transparency and sustainability. By holding these three principles, Melroy believes that human exploration and landing on the Moon will run smoothly.

"With each new signing, the Artemis Accords community adds new energy and capabilities to ensure the benefits of space reaching the rest of the world," Melroy said.

Meanwhile, representatives of Liechtenstein revealed that they joined the Artemis family because they wanted to advance space exploration. Director of the Liechtenstein Communication Office Rainer Schnepfleitner believes that this exploration is important for mankind.

Although NASA already has support from 52 countries, the space agency is still open to other countries looking to join the Artemis mission. According to NASA, support from many countries can make human exploration and landing successful on the Moon.
