Mass Ramp Check On Jagorawi Toll Road: Ensure Safe And Roadworthy Vehicles Ahead Of Nataru
BOGOR Ahead of the 2024 Christmas and New Year celebrations (Nataru), the synergy between the Central Government and the Bogor Regency Government is realized through the implementation of a Ramp Check or a thorough vehicle inspection. This activity was held at the Security Post (Pospam) KM 45 of the Jagorawi Toll Road on Saturday 21 December.
Ramp Check aims to ensure vehicles passing by are roadworthy to minimize the risk of traffic accidents. The inspection includes completeness of vehicle documents, condition of tires, brakes, lights, and overall physical vehicle. In addition, the driver also underwent a health check by the Bogor District Health Office, including urine tests involving the Bogor Regency National Narcotics Agency (BNNK).
Plt. The Head of BPTJ of the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation, Suharto, emphasized the importance of ensuring that vehicles meet technical standards.
"We have examined about 30 fleets, and five of them are not allowed to continue their journey to Puncak because they do not meet the administrative requirements or road feasibility. The vehicle has been replaced with the fleet that we have prepared so that community activities to Puncak are not disrupted," Suharto said.
West Java Police Traffic Deputy Director, AKBP Edwin Affandi, revealed a surge in vehicles heading to the Puncak area. As of Saturday morning, there were around 15,000 passing vehicles, so a one-way system was implemented to regulate traffic flow.
"We urge road users, especially two-wheelers, to prepare themselves for rainy weather to avoid accidents. Truck and bus drivers are also prohibited from using alternative routes that have uphill and dangerous terrain. They must use the main route that we have arranged through a one-way system," said Edwin.
Plt. The head of the Bogor District Health Office, Agus Fauzi, ensures the readiness of medical personnel at each post.
80 health personnel were deployed with a three-shift system at the command posts and health centers. We also provide ambulances, pusling, and medicines. In this Ramp Check activity, we check the health of drivers, including blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and blood sugar, "explained Agus.
Head of the Bogor Regency Transportation Agency, Agus Ridhallah, appreciated the collaboration with the ranks of the Central Government.
