Julien's Auctions Holds A Special Auction Celebrating Bob Dylan's Memorabilia

JAKARTA - Bob Dylan has become an influential musician and has made history in the industry. As a form of appreciation as well as celebration, Julien's Auctions held an auction entitled "Celebrating Bob Dylan: The Aronowitz Archive, T Bone Burnett, & More".

The event will take place on January 18, 2025, at the Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum in Nashville, Tennessee. About 60 items will be displayed there, including 50 from Al Aronowitz's collection of journalists.

Important points cover two pages containing three drafts of the lyrics of "Mr. Tambourine Man", which is estimated to be worth $400,000-$600,000. Bob Dylan's oil paint painting from 1968 is expected to sell for 300,000-$300,000. Other important items include 1963 leaflets from Dylan's first major show at New York City Hall, vintage photos, original sketches, and more.

The most 'hot' item in the auction this time is the Ionic Original disk from Bob Dylan's new studio footage in 2021, "The Times They Are A-Changin'," by Grammy-winning producer T Bone Burnett. This unique item is estimated to be worth $400,000-$600,000 and is the second public sale for Ionic Original footage after "Blowin' In The Wind" in 2022.

"My father is an extraordinary intermediary... He introduced Allen Ginsberg to Bob Dylan, and Bob Dylan to The Beatles... This collection is my father's ability to recognize and relate great things," said Myles Aronowitz, son of Al Aronowitz describing his father's legacy in a written statement received by VOI, December 19.

"Hearing Bob Dylan sing 'The Times They Are A-Changin' sixteen years after he wrote it was a touching experience... Ionic Original is a definitive version of the song that is inconsistent today," said T Bone Burnett.

The special exhibition features the spotlight of the Al Aronowitz collection on 18 December 2024- 17 January 2025 at The Musicians Hall Of Fame & Museum. The auction will start on January 18 at 10.00 CT at the Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum. The objects on display include Dylan's signature harmonics, the original lyrics for "Mr. Tambourine Man", the 1968 oil painting Fender Telecaster, Levi's denim jacket with the 1987 film "Hearts of Fire", and many more.
