Significantly Rising, BNPB Records 5,492 Houses Damaged Due To Natural Disasters In Sukabumi

JAKARTA - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) continues to maximize the process of collecting data on damaged houses due to natural disasters in Sukabumi Regency. So far, 5,492 houses have been damaged in Sukabumi due to natural disasters.

Based on the latest report from the Main Command Post at the Sukabumi Regency Hall, the details included 1,605 lightly damaged housing units, 1,829 moderately damaged, and 2,058 heavily damaged, as the latest report received by officers at the Main Command Post in the Sukabumi Regency Hall.

Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center Abdul Muhari in his statement in Jakarta Thursday, December 12, stated that the number of houses damaged by floods, landslides and ground movements increased significantly compared to the BNPB report on Monday, December 9, which recorded as many as 628 houses damaged in 39 sub-districts in Sukabumi from December 3-4, 2024.

He revealed that environmental conditions that had started to improve where several connecting access roads that had been cut due to being buried by landslide material could be reused contributed to the recording of the number of damaged houses.

However, BNPB together with the relevant ministries and the Sukabumi Regency Government will still carry out a more specific data collection process to support the smooth rehabilitation, reconstruction and relocation of the residents of the disaster victims.

BNPB has a scheme such as providing stimulant funds from the state budget for residents to repair their houses in the amount per unit starting from Rp. 15 million (light damage), Rp. 30 million (moderate damage), and Rp. 60 million (heavy damage), and assistance for residential waiting funds worth Rp. 600 thousand for each head of the family, apart from relocation or relocation.

The head of BNPB Suharyanto, who was confirmed on a separate occasion, said specifically for residents' houses that were damaged by the movement of land in Sukamaju Village, Cikembar District, Sukabumi Regency, all had to be relocated to a new place, because their houses and neighborhoods had been heavily damaged so they could no longer be occupied.
