Palace Estimates Government To Move To IKN In 2028

JAKARTA - Head of the Presidential Communication Office Hasan Nasbi said the government would move to the capital city of Nusantara in East Kalimantan, after the capital city could only carry out its role as the capital of politics, which is expected to occur in 2028.

"The president said that the transfer of government to IKN after IKN could play a function as a political capital city. This means that there are executive offices, legislative offices and judicial offices there," Hasan said via text message to reporters in Jakarta, Antara, Tuesday, December 10.

This was conveyed by Hasan in response to the certainty of when President Prabowo Subianto would move and have an office at IKN. Hasan said IKN development would continue. If there are no obstacles, he said, then 2028, or no later than 2029 IKN will be able to become the capital city of politics.

So far, the government through the IKN Authority has continued to carry out development at IKN.

The IKN Authority revealed that one of the development projects being carried out is the Ministry of Defense (Kemhan) building, the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), the TNI and Polri in Nusantara, East Kalimantan, which is currently in the revised stage of the Budget Implementation List (DIPA).

"So the DIPA revision is being revised, if it has been revised it continues to sign the contract, it will still be carried out," said Head of the IKN Authority Basuki Hadimuljono in Jakarta, Monday (9/12).

According to Basuki, the Ministry of Defense, BIN, TNI and Polri buildings are infrastructure that is planned to be built in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN).

The construction project for the buildings has been completed and has been set but has not yet been contracted. The signing of the contract is waiting for the completion of the DIPA revision.
