Bawaslu Claims To Prevent 33 Thousand Violations Before The 2024 Election Campaign Period
JAKARTA - Member of the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) RI Lolly Suhentty said that there were 33,740 measures to prevent election violations committed by his party before entering the 2024 election campaign period.
"From January to November 25, Bawaslu has taken 33,740 preventive measures," Lolly said in a press conference after "The 2024 Election Campaign Stage Alert Ape" at the Jakarta National Monument Field (Monas), quoted from Antara, Sunday, November 26.
According to him, the Indonesian Bawaslu will intensify efforts to prevent violations in the 2024 General Election stage.
He explained that the strategy to prevent election violations will be implemented differently depending on the level of the Election Insecurity Index (IKP) in each province.
In addition, he also said that his party together with the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) and the General Elections Commission (KPU) had formed a cyber task force to oversee potential election violations in cyberspace.
Lolly is of the view that the stages of the 2024 General Election require preparedness and vigilance from all levels of election supervisors.
Previously, the Chairman of the Indonesian Bawaslu Rahmat Bagja also asked the district/city Bawaslu ranks to make a special strategy in overseeing campaigns on social media in the 2024 General Election (Pemilu).
"Identification (on social media) of popular hashtags, fake accounts, and trends that have the potential to cause false information," Bagja said in his remarks at the apple.
He said that in the world of social media all information is quickly spread to the public, so it has the potential to cause misinformation and disinformation.
Bawaslu held the apple in preparation for the supervision of the 2024 General Election stage.
The ceremony, which was attended by the district/city Bawaslu ranks throughout Indonesia, was also attended by the Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Budie Arie Setiadi and a number of representatives from related ministries/agencies.

The KPU has also set a campaign period from November 28, 2023 to February 10, 2024, then the voting schedule will be on February 14, 2024.
