MotoGP: Officially Leaving VR46 Racing, Luca Marini Called The Honda Factory Team
JAKARTA Luca Marini officially separated from the MotoGP team, aih VR46 Racing Team after six years of defending his brother Valentino Rossi's team.
In an official statement issued on Saturday, November 25, 2023, VR46 said starting next season Marini would no longer race for them.
"The time has come for both sides to pursue ambitious goals and results through different routes," wrote VR46 as reported by Crash.
Marini is said to be joining Repsol Honda. The Japanese manufacturer still needs one name to fill the vacant position left by Marc Marquez.
"All the management, teams and people involved in this project wish Luca all the best for the future," the team continued in a statement.
Marini strengthened VR46 since he was still racing in Moto2. He then filled the formation in MotoGP in 2020.
