Deploy The Bidkum Team, Polda Metro Ready To Face Firli Bahuri's Resistance
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri fought back by suing pretrial for his determination as a suspect in the alleged extortion case against the former Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo.
Polda Metro Jaya stated that it was ready to face it by deploying a team for the Legal Sector (Bidkum).
"Investigators with the Metro Jaya Police Bidkum are ready to face the pretrial lawsuit," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation at the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak, quoted on Saturday, November 25.
On the other hand, Ade did not mind Firli Bahuri's move to file a pretrial lawsuit. Because, it is his right.
However, investigators from Polda Metro Jaya still respect the decision chosen by the Chairman of the KPK.
"That is the right of the suspect or the suspect's family through his attorney. Investigators in principle respect for that," said Ade.
In addition, it was also emphasized that in the process of investigating cases of alleged extortion until the determination of suspects, there was no form of interference or pressure whatsoever. All of them are carried out according to the rules.
"As well as being free from any form of pressure or intimidation of any influence and we ensure that the entire series of investigative activities will run professionally transparently and accountably," said Ade.
The pretrial lawsuit filed by Firli Bahuri to the South Jakarta District Court was officially accepted on Friday, November 24. The pretrial lawsuit is registered with number: 129/Pid.Pra/2023/JKT.SEL.
In the lawsuit, Firli Bahuri as the applicant. Meanwhile, the respondent, namely the Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Karyoto.
With this lawsuit, the Chairman of the South Jakarta District Court has appointed the sole judge Imelda Herawati to examine and try the case for the judicial request.
"The single judge has set the first day of trial on Monday, December 11, 2023," said Djuyamto.

As for the case of alleged extortion and acceptance of gratuities, Firli Bahuri was officially named a suspect based on the results of the case title conducted on Wednesday, November 22.
Several pieces of evidence that became the basis for determining the suspect, namely, foreign exchange documents worth Rp7.4 billion. Then, there were also the results of the extraction of 21 cellphones.
Firli was charged with Article 12e, 12B or Article 11 of Law number 31 of 1999 concerning the eradication of corruption in conjunction with Article 65 of the Criminal Code. Thus, it is threatened with life imprisonment.
