JAKARTA - Indonesian medical device products were able to record potential transactions of 21.98 million US dollars or the equivalent of IDR 338.98 billion at the Medica 2023 international exhibition, Düsseldorf, Germany on 13-16 November 2023.
"This achievement should make us proud and at the same time provide motivation for Indonesian business actors from various other sectors. With the great capabilities of Indonesian companies, our products have become the choice of world consumers," said Director General of National Export Development Didi Sumedi, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, November 23.
The Indonesian Pavilion's participation in Medica 2023 is the result of collaboration between the Ministry of Trade and the Indonesian Embassy in Berlin, the Ministry of Health, and the Indonesian Medical Device Manufacturers Association (Aspaki).
The Indonesian Pavilion displays a variety of superior domestic medical equipment products that meet international standards from seven Indonesian companies.
The products displayed are bone graft equipment, colposcopy machines, ICU ventilators, spinal system screws, hospital electric beds, syringes, surgical equipment, cardiography scanning equipment, dialysis process machines, humidifier machines, surgical gloves, reagent test equipment, and disposable surgical supplies.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, the Indonesian Pavilion also held the launch of the Bonegraft product, which is a bone replacement material used in cases of fractures with bone defects with the aim of speeding up healing.
This product contains calcium which is obtained from chicken egg shells using the latest purification process to obtain pure calcium. This innovative product is very environmentally friendly and is claimed to be the first in the world to use natural raw materials.
"Indonesia's participation in this prestigious event in the medical equipment sector is in line with the government's efforts to encourage exports of high-added value products. Apart from that, it is a momentum to showcase the capabilities of Indonesian companies in producing quality medical devices in the eyes of the world," said Didi.
