Three Main Problems Men's Doubles Ahead Of China Masters 2023
JAKARTA The men's doubles assistant coach, Thomas Indratjaja, revealed three main problems that the players had to fix ahead of the 2023 China Masters which began on November 21-26, 2023.
Four of the five representatives who will compete in the Super 750 BWF event previously could not do much at the Japan Masters 2023 last week.
In that event, three of them died immediately in the first half, while the other was stopped in the second half.
Indratjaja said that in general the men's doubles must increase by three important aspects. The aspects referred to are confidence, how to overcome pressure, as well as a more solid and focused defense.
"Before leaving, we hope that there will be representatives who will survive until the final round and win. As a result, Indonesian representatives have been eliminated early. Indeed, the performances of the players must be evaluated which are not as expected," he said.
While at the Japan Masters, the Indonesian representatives who took part in the men's doubles were Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin, Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan, Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri, and Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Rambitan.

Of these pairs, only the pair who successfully passed the first round was Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Rambitan.
Indratjaja said that in terms of cohesiveness and communication at the Pram/Yere field, it was very good.
"On average, he still has to increase his self-confidence and the accuracy of his punches," he said.
"Bagas/Fikri self-confidence must be improved again. Consistency must also be more focused. Leo/Daniel I saw that his appearance was not released. There was a burden and sometimes it was less stable. The game went up and down," he added.
Meanwhile, specifically for Hendra/Ahsan, Indratjaja said age is one of the factors that makes it rather difficult for these couples to maintain their consistency.
"Sometimes the blow is not right to match the pace of the young players now. If Hendra/Ahsan can feel more like they are, I think they can overcome the opponent," he said.
In addition to the four names above, Indonesia will also field the Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto pair at the 2023 China Masters.
