Road Implementation In Indonesia Is Not Optimal, Minister Basuki Reveals The Challenges
JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono said that currently, road management in Indonesia is still facing a number of challenges.
This was revealed by Basuki when inaugurating the Central Executive Board (DPP) of the Indonesian Road Development Association (HPJI), the HPJI Honorary Council, the HPJI Supervisory Board, and the HPJI Expert Council for the period 2023-2027 at the PUPR Ministry office, Thursday, November 16.
"The challenges include fast-growing construction technology, so innovation and creativity are also needed," Minister Basuki said in a written statement received by VOI, Friday, November 17.
Basuki added that another challenge is the limited financing innovation due to the lack of budget and human resources (HR).
"As the main driving force, human resources must be able to adapt quickly, so that road and bridge construction work can be carried out more effectively and efficiently," he said.
With these challenges, Basuki hopes that HPJI will always be with the Ministry of PUPR in road development, starting from planning, implementation, to road asset management throughout Indonesia.
"The role of HPJI as a professional organization for planners, implementers, and road and transportation developers is very important in supporting the success of infrastructure development as one of the national priority agendas," said Basuki.
