Sammy Total Invites David Lee Roth And Alex Van Halen To Join Next Year's "Tribute To Van Halen" Tour

Sammymen discussing the upcoming summer tour with bassist Michael Anthony, guitarist Joe Satriani, and drummer Jason Bonham who will mostly focus on Van Halen's songs.

Support for the "The Best Of All Worlds" tour will come from Loverboy.

"It's time. Nobody else will," Sammy said of performing songs from the Van Halen era, while appearing on the episode of "The Howard Stern Show", Tuesday.

If [van Halen's original vocalist] Dave [Lee Roth] joins, he can't sing my song. [But] we can perform some of Van Halen's early songs. I have no problem with that; I did it when I was in Van Halen," Sammy continued.

"It's really a celebration of all that, and only we can do it."

"We will invite every musician in every city. First of all, every time you play, if there are guitar players in that city, they don't care about any city, they will come to meet Joe, just like before, Eddie [Van Halen]. So if we have another guitar player, we will involve them, other singers, involve them. "

"If [Van Halen drummer] Alex Van Halen wants to jump, if David Lee Roth wants to come out and join us, come on! Get together. It's about Van Halen."

Asked by Howard Stern how likely Alex Van Halen will appear on the tour, this is Sammy's answer.

"I hope so (he joins). I call Al once a month for about five years now, and he doesn't call me anymore... I call, leave voice messages, send SMS, and send emails. All three things. 'Al, call me.'
