PDIP DPR Member Proposes Panja Supervision Of National Police Netrality For The 2024 Election
JAKARTA - Member of Commission III of the House of Representatives, Trimedya Panjaitan, proposed the formation of a working committee (Panja) for the National Police's supervision for the 2024 General Election. This is to ensure that the National Police remains neutral while guarding the five-year democratic party."From these incidents, following what was conveyed by Commission I that had happened in Commission I, they created a TNI Netrality Supervision Committee. I think Commission III too, we propose the chairman, we will make a National Police Netrality Supervision Committee, yes," said Trimedya in a meeting at Commission III of the DPR, Wednesday, November 15.Moreover, there are events involving state tools. As happened in Solo, Central Java some time ago."So we propose not to make the impression that the Police are firefighters, there is a problem with TR neutrality out of all kinds. Because of the two TR that I read and I think it's all on social media, it concerns Pasuruan because of PDIP, regarding Solo because PDIP, now other parties will definitely experience it," explained Trimedya.According to Trimedya, the National Police Chief can issue telegram (TR) so that he can agree with what is included in the Police Law Article 28 regarding the neutrality of the Police."So that this can be considered, one of which is Article 28 of Law number 2 of 2002, the consideration, so it refers to that. So that we can believe, even though we believe in Kabarhakam," he said.Trimedya doubts the neutrality of the National Police because one of the vice presidential candidates who will contest the upcoming presidential election is the son of President Joko Widodo."If it is really neutral, it will be difficult, if we want to be honest, the National Police Chief will discuss his background from the aide to the National Police Chief," he said.
"While the President's son is the current vice presidential candidate, we are clearly just talking about it. So for that so that the impression is not this, we propose it (TR neutrality in general)," said Trimedya.
