The Government Proposes An Average Hajj Fee Of IDR 105 Million
JAKARTA - The government proposes an average cost of organizing Hajj (BPIH) of IDR 105 million per person for the implementation of the Hajj pilgrimage 1445 Hijri/2024 AD.
"For the implementation of the Hajj pilgrimage in 1445 Hijri/2024 AD, the government proposes an average BPIH per congregation of Rp105,095,032," said Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas in a working meeting with Commission VIII DPR reported by ANTARA, Monday, November 13.
BPIH is a number of funds used for the operation of the Hajj pilgrimage. BPIH can be interpreted as the overall cost that must be spent on the implementation of the pilgrimage and managed by the government every Hajj season.
Yaqut explained that the preparation of BPIH used the assumption that the exchange rate of the dollar exchange rate against the rupiah was IDR 16 thousand. Meanwhile, the assumption of the SAR exchange rate against the rupiah is IDR 4,266.
Then the 1445H/2024M living cost is the same as last year's SAR 750 which will be paid in SAR by considering the protection of pilgrims from large exchange rates.
"BPIH is grouped into two components that are charged directly to Hajj pilgrims (BPIH) and the components charged to the benefit value fund (optimization)," he said.
According to Yaqut, the BPIH component formulation policy was taken in order to balance the amount of the burden on the congregation with the sustainability of the value of benefits in the future.
"The loading of BPIH must maintain the principles of istithah and liquidity of organizing the pilgrimage in the following years," he said.

The BPIH proposal figure is greater than the previous year's determination of Rp90,050,637.26 per regular hajj. However, the Bipiah formulation and benefit value for the implementation of 1445H/2024M have not been decided.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Commission VIII of the House of Representatives, Ashabul Kahfi, said that the proposed amount of BPIH would be the initial material for further discussion in the BPIH Working Committee meetings.
