Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga: Green Ocean Strategy to Build Quality Businesses
JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno asked students at the Fadhlul Fadhlan Islamic Boarding School, Semarang, Central Java, to implement a green ocean strategy to build quality and sustainable businesses.
Sandiaga explained that the green ocean strategy is when business actors strengthen collaboration by increasing the value or added value of products which will bring their business further forward.
"My message is don't compete by lowering prices. That's called a red ocean strategy. Let's collaborate by increasing added value, thereby enlarging the market. That's what is called a green ocean strategy," said Sandiaga in Semarang, Sunday.
Apart from collaboration, innovation and adaptation, he continued, it is also important for students to become resilient entrepreneurs.
This innovation consists of digitalization and the ability of students to combine faith and piety as well as science and technology.
Then adapt by following the latest trends, of course in a positive way, one of which is adopting religious knowledge that has been studied in Islamic boarding schools so that the benefit of the country can be achieved.
"This is the basis for santri to become santripreneurs who build the nation's economy. So that our orientation is not looking for jobs but creating jobs," he said.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Semarang City Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Arnaz Agung Andrarasmara said that based on surveys, it shows that now is the right time to build a business.
This is because rapidly developing digitalization is causing economic changes that lead to the lower middle economy, so that MSMEs can take this opportunity to expand their business scale.
"The main key is just being consistent and diligent. Something that is done consistently and diligently, God willing, will produce good output," concluded Arnaz.
